RELIEF VOLUNTEER WORK
Puerto Rock Steady is a party with a purpose. In 2018, we expanded our volunteer programs to include hurricane relief work with other non-profit organizations—and we encourage all of our guests to volunteer your time while on the island to help build a stronger and more sustainable Puerto Rico.
EMPOWERING & EDUCATING CHILDREN
Child Of This Culture works directly with the Boys & Girls Club of Puerto Rico to provide one-of-a-kind art, dance and wellness programs for children of all ages. Many of its programs use Hip Hop as a positive platform and are designed to educate, inspire, nurture and manifest growth in each child and their community.
MENTORING & EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
IslandCorps.org is an eco-travel, professional leadership and environmental education non-profit that designs meaningful volunteer experiences for busy people with a good heart. Its joy-filled, pediatric health events are designed around human-centered educational travel experiences using mindfulness, surfing, yoga, golf, healthy eating, sustainable food and agriculture, community building and technology education. You can donate or sign up to gift your time individually or with your team.
SUPPORT SUSTAINABLE FARMING
Since Hurricane Maria, Puerto Rico has lost its farms, locally-grown food and forests. El Departamento de la Comida and El Fondo de Resiliencia de Puerto Rico’s goal is to impact 200 sustainable food projects within 24 months post hurricane. Focused on five pillars of support—reforestation, seeds and farming, rainwater collection systems, community wellness and renewable energy—it sets out on weekly “farm brigades” with a Solidarity Bus equipped with volunteers and the tools necessary to be effective.
DONATE BOOKS & READ WITH KIDS
Student Globe is a student travel and development organization dedicated to educational, literary, developmental and charitable purposes. Its reading and writing initiative provides books to local elementary schools and orphanages in Isabela. Volunteers will help organize and deliver books, as well as read with children.
